Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Takes Legal Action Against Joe Biden For Letting American Women Down, Including In their Bathrooms
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton just announced that he is suing the Biden Administration over the use of Title IX to enforce what he calls "radical gender ideology," arguing that it violates the Constitution and endangers women.
NOTE: The lawsuit challenges a Department of Education rule that expands the definition of "sex" to include "gender identity," requiring schools to accommodate transgender individuals in sex-segregated spaces like restrooms and locker rooms or risk losing federal funding.
NOTE: Paxton contends that this rule exceeds federal authority, distorts the intent of Title IX, and compromises women's safety.
NOTE: He says the Biden Administration is pushing an extremist agenda that disregards scientific reality and undermines the protections afforded to women under Title IX.
NOTE: Additionally, America First Legal, led by Stephen Miller, is joining the lawsuit as co-counsel to oppose what they see as a violation of women's rights and dignity.
NOTE: Title IX is a federal civil rights law in the United States that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any educational program or activity that receives federal funding. It covers areas such as admissions, athletics, sexual harassment, and employment. Title IX is perhaps best known for its impact on gender equity in sports, but it also addresses issues like sexual harassment and assault on campus.
